The Barrie Gun Club is one of the premiere Multi-Discipline Gun Clubs in Canada. Established at the present location, just west of Barrie, in Springwater Township in 1946, our club is host to a wide variety of shooting disciplines.

On our shotgun fields, we offer trap, skeet and 5-stand. The establishment of our state-of-the-art 5-Stand Sporting Clays course was made possible through a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Indoors, our air conditioned HEPA filtered 10 position, 24/7 range provides an excellent opportunity to shoot handgun, air rifle and pistol calibre long guns.

Recently, in co-operation with the office of the Chief Firearms Officer for Ontario, we have made some major improvements to our six outdoor ranges. These changes will enable us to continue to hold major IPSC, PPC, and Cowboy Action competitions as well as regular house league rifle competitions.

Many of our members compete in sanctioned shooting competitions locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. The skill and mental discipline exhibited by our members is recognized throughout the world. Our focus on safety training, personal discipline and sportsmanship ensures that our safety record is one to be envied by any sporting facility.

The junior programs operated by the Barrie Gun Club also offer high-quality instruction in the safe and ethical practice of archery and air rifle target shooting. Adults supervise and instruct youngsters as young as seven. Instruction consists of safety training, mental concentration training and sportsmanship, so that the safe handling of archery and firearms equipment becomes second nature. Many adults also accompany our juniors on our 3D archery course that winds through our property.

In summary, we are a private, member owned and operated facility that provides an environment for firearms enthusiasts to enjoy their chosen sport safely and with others of a like mind.
